EMILY BAXTER

Emily Baxter is a filmer based in Tofino, British Columbia, working across surf, coastal, and commercial projects. She studied Fine Arts and Earth Sciences at the University of Victoria, grounding her practice in analogue photography before evolving toward digital photo and video based work.

A lifelong connection to the ocean and a deep passion for surfing shape both her creative direction and subject matter. Years spent working as an open water lifeguard, leading backcountry canoe expeditions, competing in university sailing, and later serving with the Canadian Coast Guard developed a strong foundation in water safety, navigation, and environmental awareness. That experience informs her approach to filming on and in the water, where creative instinct and practical judgment must work together.

Her projects span tourism campaigns, brand films, and broadcast collaborations, bringing together artistic training, environmental understanding, and disciplined production execution.
